GaitAnalyzer description

This app tells you whether you have symptoms of functional short leg, which in many cases is correctible with physical therapy to strengthen the weaker side. The app also suggests a starting course of recovery exercises. The user uploads video input of several seconds of walking with orange stickers attached to the shoulders and hips. You can get a set of stickers here.

What it does: an example schematic is shown in the banner (4 orange tracers attached to the hips and shoulders). Click through the example demo link above to see the tool demonstrated through raw data analysis. Data features are extracted and engineered from the time series of the 4 tracers and used in a 3-class machine learning classification problem (short-left gait, short-right gait, or normal gait). Training data was obtained from 15 individuals. Ground truth for the functionally short leg cases was established by subjects walking with one side artificially raised up, e.g. by taking the shoe off the opposite foot.
